The Springhill Hospice Santa Dawdle or Dash raised an amazing £14,700 for the Hospice.

Community Fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom said: “This is a phenomenal amount of money and is nearly five times the usual amount. We had fantastic support from everyone in the community from event organiser Pearl Benbow to the businesses in and around Littleborough and the borough who sponsored the event.

“Without the support of all of the staff at The Visitor's Centre at Hollingworth Lake, the Wardle Community Brass Band and all of the amazing individuals, families and local
businesses who dressed up and ran around the lake on the day, we wouldn't have been able to raise a penny. Thank you to them all.

“We're looking forward to this year’s Santa Dawdle or Dash where we hope that we can smash last year’s total of 400 Santa’s to help celebrate the events 10th Birthday.”

Max and Emelia Godley have been announced as the highest joint fundraisers from the event having raised £706.25.

On Thursday (5 March) the Business Buddies scheme celebrated its first year with a celebration.

The Fundraising Team are preparing packs and leaflets for this year’s Go Green Day. Set for 15/5/15, the Hospice has already received pledges of support from businesses who
took part last year as well as a number of new businesses.
