Holocaust Memorial Day - concentration camp

As part of Holocaust Memorial Day (27 January 2015) two learners from year 9 at Matthew Moss High School volunteered to present an assembly about the Holocaust to all families.

They prepared and presented the assembly themselves; focusing on what the Holocaust involved, how we remember and also the key theme of this year, ‘Keep the memory alive’.

This is how Ruda Ismail and Imaan Warriach found the experience:

Presenting the holocaust assembly was a great experience for us both because it helped build our confidence in front a large amount of people.

It was actually our first time doing something like this and thankfully we managed to get through it without any errors.

For the assembly we had to prepare it all by ourselves.

This was a challenge for us because we have not done anything like it before.

Every form time we put the power point together, also the scripts and at lunchtimes we would get a teacher to critique our work who would normally be Ms Leach-Rogers.

It was very helpful and we worked off the critique we got given to improve it.

Now that we have faced this challenge we both are proud of ourselves and we feel that we can do it once again in front of even more people or face a tougher challenge together.
