Heywood Community Fun Day
Inspector Steve Hanlon says: "I am pleased to say for the fourth week running burglaries have fallen in Heywood.
"Increased patrolling, targeting of offenders and the charging of a number of individuals seems to be having a beneficial effect.
"Anti-social behaviour is still an issue and I will have a number of staff in Heywood Town Centre this weekend to combat this (including me on Friday night). I also have plans to deal with the anti-social behaviour problems encountered by residents and shopkeepers in Darnhill.
"Heywood Community Fun Day on 19 February at The Heywood Pub and St James Church
was organised by PCSO Jenny George from the Heywood Neighbourhood Policing Team.
"There were stalls from sweets to trains, a DJ, bouncy castles, face painting, inflatable football net, food and also games/ entertainment.
"There was a terrific turn out and a fun day had by all.
"The cohesion event was a great success.
"Thank you to the organisers and volunteers and to yourselves for attending in good numbers.
"I would also like to thank the Manchester United Foundation for all they did to make the event go well. It was a wonderful showcase for all that is good about Heywood."
