Party and pamper night for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Date published: 14 February 2015

A party and pamper night on Friday (13 February) evening raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The event was in partnership with the Jamilla Paul, Strawberry Laces, Embellished Divas and Adonis Café Bar and held at the new Jamilla Paul salon on Calderbrook Road, Littleborough.

Organised by Jamilla Paul, Donna Bushell and Sarah Butterworth, the pampering  included make-overs (make-up, nails and eyebrows), hair and make up demonstrations and exclusive offers on clothes and jewellery from Strawberry Laces and Embellished Divas.

Jamilla Paul said: “It has been really good. It has been lots of fun and we have had a fantastic turnout. There has been a fantastic atmosphere and whatever we raise will be brilliant.

“It is about raising as much money as possible and having a good time and doing what we can for the charity.”

Donna Bushell from Strawberry Laces said: “It has been fabulous. We have been busy since we started at 4pm and everyone seems to have really had a good time. I have had to have more stock brought in due to the demand.”

Sarah Butterworth from Embellished Divas added: “It has been a really good event. The customers seem to have had a great time and it is not only about the charity, but it is also about our clients seeing the salon and taking the opportunity to treat themselves.”

Caroline Finnerty from Adonis Café Bar said: “It has been really good and there has been a fantastic turn out. The partnership between us and Jamilla is going really well. There is always a buzz about the place.”

As well as client makeovers, Jamilla and her team took part in a bad hair day for Great Ormond Street.

Money raised from bad hair day and the pamper and party event will make a vital difference to children from across the UK who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life threatening conditions by helping fund pioneering new research, state of the art equipment and the hospital’s much needed redevelopment.
