REAG runners up at the Keep Britain Tidy awards

Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) received the ‘The Big Tidy Up', runners up certificate at the Keep Britain Tidy Diamond Jubilee Awards held at Metropolitan Catheral Crypt Chapel in Liverpool.

More than 500 delegates from all over the UK attended this prestigious award ceremony.

Christine Mathewson, Chairwoman, Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary, George Lee, Publicity Secretary and Shah Bano attended to receive the certificate.

Mr Shahzad  said: "It was a great achievement not only for REAG but also for the people of the Borough of Rochdale.

“It was great to hear the name of the Borough of Rochdale in the presence of more than 500 delegates from all over the country.

“It was the acknowledgement and the recognition of the passion, commitment and dedication the members of the REAG have for the Borough of Rochdale they live in.

“We are grateful to the Rochdale Borough Council, cuncillors, businesses, organisations, residents and all REAG members for their continued support for improving the environment of the Borough of Rochdale."
