The success of Small Business Saturday has left Littleborough shops craving another event.
Littleborough businesses are working together to plan Littleborough's first ever food festival.
The plans came about as over 20 local shops and businesses attended the Pennine Business & Tourism Forum and follows the success of the free hog roast for Small Business Saturday in December.
The food festival will take place on Saturday 13 June and will involve local shops holding taster stalls from local food producers.
The event takes place the day before the June Farmers' Market & Craft Fair to make the festival a full weekend.
Rochdale Online Director, John Kay, Chairman of the Pennine Business and Tourism Forum, said: "A demand from over twenty Littleborough businesses that we should have a food festival in Littleborough cannot be refused. The village is already well known for its Rushbearing Festival, its monthly farmer's markets and its Arts Festival, so why not a food festival? We are, after all, the tourism centre for Rochdale borough"
Joanne Matthews, from Best Dressed, said: "I'm really looking forward to the food festival in June. It is great to see all businesses working together to put on something to the benefit of Littleborough and to give something back to the Littleborough community who support all our shops."
If you are a local food producer or business that would like to get involved, please get in touch with Joanne or Clare at Best Dressed on Church Street (01706 371062).
