Operation Olympus update: nineteen people arrested
Date published: 12 February 2015
Following yesterday’s (Wednesday 11 February) news that 14 people from across Rochdale had been arrested as part of Operation Olympus, police have revealed that the number arrested has risen to 19.
The initiative, which sees over 250 local police officers, including traffic, tactical aid and ANPR intercept teams target offenders throughout February,
took place across Rochdale yesterday.
Those targeted as part of the operation were wanted offenders.
Greater Manchester Police Superintendent Craig Thompson, operational lead, said: “Operation Olympus sends a clear message to criminals that there will be no hiding place for them and that the safety of our community comes first and will always be our priority. We will leave no stone unturned and will use all of our disruption tactics to make life difficult for them.”
