Milkstone Area Businesses and Residents Association meet to discuss safety and security

A meeting of the Milkstone Area Businesses and Residents Association (MABRA) took place last week to discuss the safety and security of management and staff of local businesses following the armed robbery at Naz Jewellers on Milkstone Road.
Attended my MABRA members, local businesses, residents, police and councillors, the meeting discussed in detail how safety and security can be improved.
Police officers provided updated information and emphasised the fact that reporting any incidents of crime, suspected criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in the area is very important.
Other issues discussed included traffic management, drug dealings and environmental improvements.
It was agreed that in the light of recent budget cuts and the current level of available staff, the group are in urgent need of regular meetings and partnership working amongst the police, Rochdale Council, businesses and residents.
The next meeting of MABRA will take place on Monday 2 March at 7pm at Castlemere Community Centre.
