Mobility car stolen from Beswicke Street

Date published: 09 February 2015

A mobility car has been stolen from outside of a property on Beswicke Street, Falinge.

The car, which also had a disability badge and a walking stick in it, was stolen between midnight on Thursday (5 February) and 7am on Friday (6 February).

It is understood that the offender managed to reach into the property through the letterbox and took the keys.

Don Astwood who the car belongs to said: “I’m pretty much housebound without it and I’ve spoken to Mobility and they have said they can’t give me a replacement due to the car being stolen.”

The car is a white Mazda 3 Tamura with the registration plate MJ63 NFA.

Don is now hoping to get the car returned as soon as possible. He added: “I have just tried to get the information out there in anyway possible because I am stuck without the car if I can’t get picked up by anyone.”

Police confirmed that they are looking into the incident and have asked that if anyone sees the car, then to get in touch with them by calling 101.
