Teenager charged with rape

A teenager has been charged in connection with the rape of a woman in Heywood.
At around 1.25am on Wednesday 4 February 2015 police were called to Manchester Road, Heywood following reports that a 46-year-old woman had been attacked at the junction of Birnam Grove and Argyle Street earlier on.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with rape and attempted rape and is due to appear at Rochdale magistrates’ court on Monday 9 February 2015.
Police are still keen to speak with any witnesses who may have seen any individuals around that area to get in touch with them.
