JR Pizza Plus closed 'to eliminate any risk to health'
Date published: 05 February 2015
JR Pizza Plus on Spotland Road was closed on Friday (30 January) after a visit by inspectors.
It is understood that following the visit, the owners of the takeaway voluntarily closed the premises to eliminate any risk to health.
Councillor Cecile Biant, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Regulation at Rochdale Council, said: “Inspectors visited JR Pizza on Spotland Road on Friday. The owners voluntarily closed the premises over the weekend and worked with our officers to remove the immediate risk to health.
“The premises have now reopened and been awarded a Food Hygiene rating of one.”
Mir Zaman, Manager of JR Pizza Plus, said: “The health inspectors came on Friday and we had some issues that they pointed out. We decided to close voluntarily to sort them out - we weren’t closed down. We did it ourselves and got everything sorted quickly. We were told the issues needed to be addressed and we did it. We were back open again on Monday and the health inspectors said they were happy.”
