Greg Sherrington dies

Actor Greg Sherrington has died at the age of 62.
Mr Sherrington, who performed on theatre stages in Rochdale and Oldham for over 40 years, died at his home on Tuesday 20 January after suffering from lung cancer.
He began his acting career at Playhouse 2 Theatre in Shaw when he was a teenager.
He left the Playhouse after 20 years and started to perform with the Rochdale Curtain Theatre on Milkstone Road.
Mr Sherrington lived in Middleton and took on a variety of roles throughout his career, including Jesus Christ in a production of the Son of Man, Macduff in Macbeth and Compo in the Last of the Summer Wine.
He leaves behind three children.
His funeral took place today (Wednesday 4 February) at Blackley Crematorium.
