Body found following police search for missing Middleton man

Police were called to a brook near Sandy Lane in Middleton to reports that a body had been found following a police search for missing Middleton man Brian Slater.
Officers attended to find the body of a 59-year-old man. He has not been formally identified.
Brian Slater, aged 59 had been missing from his home address on Lark Hill Court in Middleton.
He was last seen by his son at around 8pm on Wednesday 14 January 2015.
A GMP spokesperson confirmed police are no longer searching for Mr Slater.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and the coroner has been informed.
