Azi Ahmed, Conservatives Parliamentary candidate for Rochdale
The Conservatives have selected Azi Ahmed as their Parliamentary candidate for Rochdale.
Born and raised in the area, Ms Ahmed says she believes her personable approach to people will help her make a difference in the community and is a supporter of small businesses.
She said: “Growing up and working in the family kebab shop gave me an understanding of the support small enterprises require to grow.
“Having set up my own company, I understand the motivation and inspiration needed to build a dynamic environment, connecting local businesses and residents together.”
Ms Ahmed is a former member of the British Army, which she credits with having given her the "ability to communicate with people from all walks of life, provide strong leadership, and create a safe and dynamic environment".
Outside of work Ms Ahmed is a volunteer at a charity organisation for the homeless and a school governor at a school for children with special needs.
