Snow is causing havoc on the roads.
Simon France of Littleborough Local has reported that there are lots of cars stuck on the M62 between Milnrow and Rochdale. Slow moving traffic and long delays in both directions between junctions 21 and 22. Eastbound delays of one and a half hours between junctions 18 and 24 are due to a broken down vehicle.
There has been an accident on the A627(M) southbound between A664 near Rochdale and the M62.
Jamilla Paul has posted that traffic is at a standstill on Hollingworth Road and Lake Road and to avoid if possible.
She added: "Seriously has anyone seen any gritters? It's a joke! Carnage everywhere!"

Julie Banham says Whitworth Road is "like a car park".
Heather Pomfret says Milnrow is a sheet of ice. She added: "Kiln Lane is impossible!"
Cars are stuck on Wildhouse Lane - avoid if possible.
Shahid Sardar says that "main roads haven't been gritted" and the "school-run was lethal".

Rochdale Online Managing Director, Pauline Journeaux, has had to turn back from trying to get from Rochdale to Saddleworth.
Wardle Academy and Smithy Bridge Primary School are closed.
Some bus services have been suspended, most are running, but many are facing delays or diversions due to snow and wintry road conditions. 454 and 457 Shore Road, Calderbrook Road and Barnes Meadow - services terminating at Littleborough Train Station.
9.14am: Severe delays on the Rochdale to East Didsbury Metrolink line.
The council says over 245 tonnes of salt has been spread on the roads overnight and gritters will be out "all today to keep the roads safe".
When driving in icy or snowy weather keep well back from the road user in front. Drive at a slow speed in as high a gear as possible; accelerate and brake very gently.
