More snow on the way as Met Office issues severe weather warning
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for snow for the north-west this Wednesday and Thursday.
Whilst temperatures are likely to remain mild on Monday and Tuesday, forecasters have warned that two inches (5cm) could fall locally at low levels from Wednesday this week, while higher ground above 500ft could see more than four inches (10cm).
The Met Office also added that gusty winds are likely to accompany snow showers and lead to significantly reduced visibility at times.
Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing during the night towards next weekend.
