Snow And Ice
Could you please ensure that your children come to school wearing appropriate clothing for the current weather conditions – warm, waterproof coat; hat; scarf and gloves. It is also important that they wear sensible footwear. If they come to school in Wellington boots or boots could you please ensure that they bring their school shoes to change into when they arrive at school. They are allowed to wear their Wellington boots or boots in the playground but not in school.
Could we also remind you to walk within the coned areas that have been gritted when you and your children enter the school playground.
In addition, if we have to close the school due to snow, it is important that we have your up to-date phone details on file so that we can send you a text in the event of this situation arising. Any message will also be displayed prominently on the ‘Home’ page of the school website.
Y6 SATS Preparation
Parents and children in Y6 are encouraged to attend a meeting on: Thursday 22 January at 6.00pm Where information will be provided for all regarding the SATs tests for Y6 children during 2015 and how we can prepare each child to do their best, with the support from home and school. For all there will be extra classes before or after school to provide additional preparation……
Breakfast ICT Groups
The ‘Breakfast ICT Groups’ began in the Autumn and will continue until SATs week, in May. Please continue to encourage your child to attend as required.
There will also be After School Lessons, in Maths and English on Mondays and Wednesdays. They run from 3.15 to 4.00 p.m. These are targeted at individuals and smaller groups, not necessarily for all, so please check any letters sent home.
I realise that it can, at times be inconvenient with drop off and collection to attend these classes, so we appreciate the efforts that you make to ensure that your child is as well prepared as possible and attends these extra lessons.
It might be necessary to rearrange some other after school activities to avoid children missing out on, for example football practice and matches.
