Big Brother coming to Rochdale

Date published: 14 January 2015

Big Brother is coming to Rochdale on Thursday (15 January) to recruit potential housemates for the shows next series.

A team from the show will be at Chronicles Café in Falinge Park from 6.30pm to meet and talk to people interested in signing up for the show.

Tracie Powers, from Falinge Hub, said: “We are holding a Mind, Body and Spirit night on Thursday and we got a call out of the blue from Big Brother asking us if they could come along and speak to people about the show.”

It is understood that those from the show won’t be looking to audition people there and then, but will be looking to speak to people showing an interest.

Tracie added: “I don’t think it is auditions because from what I understand they aren’t bringing cameras or anything, it is just a team of people.”

Tracie and Angie Parr, who are organising the Mind, Body and Spirit event, have seen a huge reaction to the news and are now expecting a large crowd on Thursday.

“It has gone mental with people saying they are coming. Another volunteer who works at Asda then told her colleagues and about half of Asda have said they are coming so it sounds like it’s going to be mad but we’ll have to wait and see,” added Angie.

Big Brother will be airing its 16th series later this year. This will be the fifth series of the show to be aired on Channel 5.

Angie added: “It is nice that they are coming to Rochdale and hopefully it should all go alright.”
