Police search for man who stole van from milkman

Police are currently searching for a man who stole a van from a milkman whilst he was out making deliveries.

The incident occurred at 7:05am on Monday (5 January) on Rochdale Road, High Crompton.

After the milkman returned to his vehicle after making a delivery, a male offender opened the driver’s door and dragged the man out of the van.

The offender then locked the doors, threw milk at the man and made off in the vehicle towards Rochdale.

The offender is described as a white male, 45-50 years old, stocky build with grey receding hair.

The van is not a traditional milk float and is described as a red Mercedes Vito van.
