Pennines Township Committee meeting as it happened

Date published: 06 January 2015

Tuesday 6 January

Councillors offer their congratulations to Councillor Robert Clegg who has been awarded an OBE.

There are no questions in the open forum.

The first item discussed by the committee is non-regulated council car parks.

The proposals outline plans to transfer the non-regulated council car parks back to the township. The proposals will affect eight car parks in the Pennines Township.

Councillor Aftab Hussain is worried as he doesn’t think any income can be generated from the car parks and Councillor Robert Clegg agrees that there is no potential for real income.

Councillor Alan Brett asks if a report can be brought to the township that will look at what income is generated from a car park on Edmond Street and how the township can dispose of/use car parks locally that don’t have any rates.

Section 106 money for Pennines Township is next. The money is for open space developments, maintenance and improvements.

Councillors agree the report.

An update of the township plan is next.

The plan was agreed in March 2014 with a number of updates presented to councillors.

Councillors agree the report.

Meeting ended.
