Bookies quote odds of 33/1 on Karen Danczuk to be first elected Mayor of Greater Manchester

Karen Danczuk
Kingsway councillor, Karen Danczuk has odds of 33/1 at Ladbrokes to become the first elected Mayor of Greater Manchester.
Councillor Danczuk trails her husband, Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, in the betting stakes - Mr Danczuk has odds of 20/1.
Now (in)famous for her cleaveage revealing selfies posted on social media, she has joked she may run for the post, tweeting: “Might put a bet on myself.”
The leader of Manchester Council, Sir Richard Leese, is the 4/1 favourite to land the post.
The region’s political leaders agreed to an elected mayor in November as part of a £1 billion devolution deal with the Government to devolve functional and fiscal responsibilities alongside a staged approach to Greater Manchester governance arrangements.
The Mayor for Greater Manchester will differ from current mayoralties in that the powers are greater and control extends over more than one local authority area. The Government is preparing legislation to enable these changes with the potential for the Mayoral election to take place in 2017.
