Man cut from car after collision

A man had to be cut free from his car yesterday morning (Sunday 4 January) after a road traffic collision in Heywood.
Police were called to the accident on Pilsworth Road, Heywood near to its junction with Argyle Street at 6:27am. The Fire Service then arrived at 6:38am.
Greater Manchester police recovered one car whilst firefighters made the other vehicle safe.
Fire crews from Heywood and Rochdale then cut the man free, who was conscious and breathing but complaining of neck and back pain.
The man was later taken to North Manchester Hospital but it is understood that he suffered no serious injuries.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that drink driving was not involved.
The road was cleared by 8am.
