Langley charity Status 4 All seeks donations to repair essential van

Date published: 04 January 2015

Status 4 All, a Langley-based community charity, is desperately seeking £2,000 in donations in order to repair a van which is an essential part of its day-to-day work.

The charity, which helps troubled and disadvantaged people in Langley by providing them with work experience opportunities, uses the van to transport people and equipment.

Sue Smith, who set up the charity along with her husband Terry, said the van is at the heart of everything they do and without it the charity’s positive work is at risk.

“It’s the heart of the project. It can carry the big tools. It can carry more volunteers. It’s just perfect for the project but it’s a major problem,” Sue said.

The money will be used to repair a major problem with the fuel system and an oil leak. The large size of the van means a specialist garage is required to carry out the work.

Donations can be made on a special Just Giving page set up by the charity, at https://www.justgiving.com/yimby/Status/#/

Sue said that the way that Just Giving works means that if the total is not raised by Friday 16 January, donors will not be charged and the money must be raised again.
