At a 'Christmas Breakfast', Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) discussed their future plans to clean the streets and roads of Rochdale.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary of RWAG, said: “I spend 10% of my time at my house, 90% time on the streets, roads and public buildings.
“I leave it to you to decide which my home is?
He answered it himself saying: “The Borough of Rochdale and UK is my, and my future generation’s, home.
“We should respect Rochdale as our home and, as we keep our houses clean, should also put our efforts and time to increase its beauty so that people of other towns should be attracted to visit it."
REAG is campaigning for improving environment and now has a banner which will be displayed in public places to raise more awareness about the advantages of the improved environment.
REAG members will resume cleaning in January 2015.
Mr Shahzad added: "Anyone interested is most welcome to join us every Saturday at 10.00am outside the Castlemere Community Centre, Tweedale Street, Rochdale OL11 1HH."
