Hospice News

The newly launched Tea Room at the fundraising offices has taken off really well. A limited menu is currently being offered as a permanent chef starts in January but so far, since its launch in early December, the Tea Room has been very well received. Pensioners groups, local businesses and people wanting to support the Hospice have all used the rooms since opening.

Come January, a larger menu will be offered with the Fundraising Team hoping that the Tea Room becomes even more popular.

The Fundraising Team are now looking forward to the New Year and future fundraising for the Hospice.

Man of Rochdale

Harry Bell was crowned this year’s Man of Rochdale at a special luncheon at the end of November. Mr Bell won the award after beating off 49 other nominees.

A final fundraising figure from the event is not yet known but it is understood that the total amount is “record breaking”.

Dates for the Diary

Sunday 14 December
Santa Dawdle or Dash
This is the final big fundraising event of the year for the Hospice with record breaking numbers of people taking part. The Fundraising Team has had to close registration for the event at 330 people.

People can still register on the day but they are being advised that they will not receive a t-shirt and may not receive a medal as the fundraising team cannot predict numbers at this time.

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk will be setting those taking part off at 11am from the Visitors Centre at Hollingworth Lake. Participants can start arriving from 10am.
