Sunny Brow Nursery Outstanding

Date published: 06 December 2014

A Middleton nursery is described as a ‘magical place’ in its fourth successive Outstanding Ofsted report, with children’s excellent behaviour and learning standards among its stand-out factors.

Sunny Brow Nursery, on Sunny Brow Road, was inspected in November and their result, which is the highest possible rating.

The report also praised ‘inspirational’ headteacher Janet Cook and the nursery’s ‘extremely caring, welcoming and safe’ setting.

Ms Cook said: “We are delighted and for us it’s a double because we have care services which were also named Outstanding.”

Many parents have requested Sunny Brow for their children based on the glowing reports, meaning the nursery has had to turn people away, however, Ms Cook said an expansion of the nursery, which caters for children aged three to four, is in the pipeline.

She added: “We have to just keep maintaining [the standards]. We are expanding as a school. We’re taking on a new extra class and that’s a big step forward for us. It’s a change for us and we’re very excited.”

The nursery’s report also noted how parents ‘speak highly of the school’ and say that ‘their children feel very safe and are eager to come to the nursery each day’.

“It’s fantastic,” said Ms Cook.
