Holy Trinity CE Primary School Head Teacher Mark Kenyon with pupils after their outstanding OFSTED result
Teachers and pupils at Littleborough’s Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School are celebrating after an Ofsted inspection rated the school as outstanding.
The inspection looked at five categories, with the school receiving top marks in leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching, achievement of pupils and early years’ provision.
Inspectors praised the school’s “wonderful focus” on developing students’ academic skills, personal qualities and interests, calling it a “haven of big opportunities for every pupil.”
Ofsted were also impressed with the staff’s "inspiring and highly imaginative teaching,” the “outstanding behaviour and attitudes to learning” exhibited by pupils and the “inspirational and charismatic” leadership of head teacher Mark Kenyon.
Mr Kenyon said: “We are absolutely elated. I have never read more well-deserved praise for our teachers, support staff, senior leaders, pupils and governors. We all share a fantastic spirit of learning at Holy Trinity.
“Last time Ofsted rated us as good but we were determined to improve. It’s incredibly difficult to achieve outstanding in every category and we are just so pleased that Ofsted have recognised the wonderful work that we see day-in, day-out.”
Also singled out for praise was the wealth of opportunities afforded to pupils to enjoy sport, music, the arts and also opportunities to learn lifesaving CPR and defibrillation skills.
Ofsted noted that pupils achieved exceptionally well, reaching standards that are consistently significantly above the national average in reading, writing and mathematics.
