Milnrow Parish Church Christmas Fair
Date published: 29 November 2014
Milnrow Parish Church held their annual Christmas Fair today (Saturday 29 November) to raise money for the church.
Held at Milnrow Parish Primary School, the fair included stalls such as cakes, bric-a-brac, crafts, games and a Santa’s Grotto.
Church Warden, Geoff Cowling said: “We have been holding the fair every year for about 30 years and it gets better each year. We have had some great support again this year and have had a steady flow of people through the door.”
The school hall was packed with parents, children and supporters of the church who came together to enjoy the annual event.
Geoff added: “It is a really good community event as well that involves everyone form the church uniform groups to the church wardens and the school.”
Money raised from the fair will go towards church funds, which will be used for the upkeep of the church.
“The fundraising aspect of the event helps us raise money for the upkeep of the church so whatever we raise will be great,” added Geoff.
Last year's fair raised around £1,800 and the organisers would love to match that total.
Geoff said: “Luckily the total raised has gone up every year and last year's total was great so if we could reach that then we would be pleased but anything would be great.”
