REAG members during their clean up
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) cleaned Drake Street near the tram track where there was a lot of litter thrown by passers by. Other members of REAG cleaned Milkstone Road, Henry Street, Devon Street, William Street, Ann Street, Suffolk Street and Mere Street.
Members of the REAG said they were pleased to see the renovation work being carried out at the Crescent Hotel on Drake Street. REAG Secretary Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE said: "The colour has been changed, it looks much better now as compared to the past."
Mr Shahzad also thanked Rochdale Council for the efforts to improve the positive image of the Borough for people travelling to Rochdale from other towns. He said: "REAG would also like to see either a flower bed or a large poster welcoming people to the 'Rochdale - birthplace of Co-operative movement'."
