PDS Doorsets prepare for the Springhill Hospice Santa Dash or Dawdle
Santa’s of all ages will dash or dawdle around Hollingworth Lake on Sunday 14 December.
Now in its ninth year, the Santa Dash or Dawdle will see hundreds of Santa’s dashing, dawdling, pram pushing, dog walking or simply enjoying a lovely stroll, dressed as Father Christmas around Hollingworth Lake.
Each year, event creator and fundraising volunteer Pearl Benbow gives up her spare time to canvas local businesses for their support and also makes sure the whole of the community know about this fantastic event. This year she has really come up trumps with registrations already at record numbers from lone runners to couples with their dogs and entire families to local businesses.
One such show of group support comes from PDS Doorsets in Littleborough. Spurred on by their Managing Director, Tim Fairley, the company is putting together a team of fundraisers especially for the event. So seriously are they taking their Santa duties that everyone from the workshop to the offices is getting into the swing of things.
Community Fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom visited them earlier this week and said: "PDS are fantastic, they've really embraced the idea of this event which is fun, family fundraising. The PDS family are getting involved, along with their families at home. Tim is also swelling the numbers by inviting along two teams of young footballers that he manages and their families. The company has shown Springhill brilliant support over the years but this is simply Santa-tastic."
Registration for the event starts from 10am with everyone setting of at 11am from The Hollingworth lake Visitors Centre.
To get involved in the event, contact Lillie on 01706 641790 or Lillie.winterbottom@nhs.net.
Application forms can also be picked up from the Hospice shops, the Hospice itself or the Springhill Team Rooms and Gift Shop at the The Craven on Broad Lane.
