£305 million road improvements for Greater Manchester
Work to deliver a Smart Motorway along the M62 is already underway.
Sections of the M62 at Rochdale are also to have extra CCTV cameras installed and new safety barriers will be installed along the A627M.
Cyclists are set to benefit from safer crossing points across the motorway junctions at Middleton and Milnrow – enhancing the viability of national cycle routes.
During roadworks drivers are advised to plan their journeys and allow more for travel.
