Date published: 15 November 2014

Dozens of apprentices scooped certificates in the Town Hall on Thursday night (13 November) as part of the 45th annual Rochdale Training Awards Ceremony.

The event, which celebrates achievements of apprentices and students in Rochdale, saw more than 50 individuals collect certificates for NVQ diplomas and apprenticeships.

Chris Beech, Assistant Manager of Rochdale AFC, presented the awards.

Jill Nagy, Chief Executive of Rochdale Training, said: “It's been a great evening, celebrating the achievement of our learners in gaining an Apprenticeship or a vocational, nationally recognised qualification.”

Among those who received accolades was Milly Whittaker, 17, who won the first year engineering apprentice award for her work at Hanson Springs.

Joshua Mills, of Precision Technologies Group, based in Milnrow, also received a special award. He was recognised as Rochdale Training’s Apprenticeship Ambassador 2014.

Ms Nagy added: “It is also pleasing to see the support local employers have given our event and we have been delighted that Chris Beech presented the awards. All-in-all a wonderful evening.”
