The family of Joseph Brown-Lartey, the 25-year-old man who died following a collision in Rochdale, has paid him tribute.

Joseph, who was driving an Audi A5 that was hit by an Audi A6 S-line in the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joseph's parents, Mr and Mrs Brown-Lartey said: “Joseph is a great son, brother and friend to many people with his whole future ahead of him which has been tragically and suddenly taken away from us‎ far too soon. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Our lives will never be the same again.”

Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that Joseph was not involved in any racing and was not travelling at high speed before the collision.

It is understood Joseph's car was hit at speed by the Audi A6, that was said to be "racing" another car, and split into two on impact.

One eye witness to the crash said: “There was a young man slumped behind a lamp post. I stroked his arm but it was clear he was dead. We got a towel and covered him up.”

Another witness added: “He had his whole life ahead of him and he has been killed because of people racing.”
