Springhill Hospice prepares for Christmas

Date published: 10 November 2014

During last week, teams of volunteers from The Halifax Building Society in Rochdale have been on hand to wrap gifts for Santa’s grotto, prepare table gifts for the Man of Rochdale Luncheon on Friday 28 November and give a hand clearing out the cellar at Fundraising HQ at The Craven.

Sarah Ford, Income Services Manager at the Hospice said: "It's a really busy time of year with preparations for so many amazing events. Our Christmas Fair is first. When the doors open at 10.00am Springy will be there to welcome everyone but we'll keep him clear of any of the delicate gifts and scrummy home bake.

“We're busy with a pre-opening crafts brunch at our new fundraising venture 'The Springhill Tea Rooms and Gift Shop (which has it's official opening on Monday 1 December at 2pm), The Man of Rochdale Luncheon, and then the Santa Dash and Dawdle on the 14 December - all in all a very busy few months."

The Christmas Fair takes place on Sunday 16 November and donations of unwanted gifts for tombolas and raffles, bric-a-brac and home bake are much needed and always welcome.

Anyone who wishes to donate goods, should contact the fundraising team on 01706 641790 or email melanie.caffrey@nhs.net
