Thousands took part in the Remembrance Parade and Service in Middleton this morning.
The parade was led Deputy Mayor Surinder Biant and Deputy Mayoress Cecile Biant, accompanied by Middleton Band.
All the forces were represented along with cadets from every service, scouts, cubs, brownies, guides and scout rangers.
Having assembled on Long Street, the parade marched to Middleton Gardens of Remembrance where a service, lead by The Reverend Canon Philip Miller, took place.
Thousands of people attended, more than could get inside the Garden of Remembrance, people were stood outside listening and paying their respects.
Hymns included:
- All people that on earth do dwell
- O valiant hearts
- O God our help in ages past
Canon Miller's sermon focused on those who returned from war, how they have coped with the memories of the horror they encountered and how they have lived with their injuries.
The Last Post was played followed by a minute's silence before the parade marched back to Long Street.
