Rochdale Registered care Manager, Kelly Buckley, from care-at-home organisation Direct Health, is celebrating after scooping the Registered Manager Award at the North West Great British Care Awards.

Kelly beat off steep competition to win her category and will now progress to the Care Awards National Finals next year.

The Great British Care Awards are a celebration of excellence across the care sector, and are designed to showcase best practice within home care and care homes sectors and honour individuals who have shone within their field of work.

Direct Health, part of Accord Group, is one of the UK’s leading providers of social and personal care services to people in their own homes.

It operates across the Midlands and the North of England, providing approximately 50,000 hours of care a week to 6,000 customers.

The Great British North West Care Awards took place at the Palace Hotel in Manchester, with a large number of care organisations attending.

Jonathan Vellacott, Chief Executive of Direct Health, said: “We are very proud of Kelly and all the other care workers at Direct Health who give so much to the people that we care for.

“Kelly has been recognised with this award because she is prepared to go the extra mile for customers and deliver the very best possible care.”
