Skeletons, witches and zombies turn up for Heywood Bonfire

Skeletons, witches and zombies made their way to Cherwell Avenue in Heywood this evening (Friday 31 October) for a bonfire and firework display.
Falling on Halloween, children, families and friends in fancy dress turned up watch the huge bonfire and fireworks light the night sky.
The event also included fairground rides and fairground games for people of all ages to enjoy.
This was the final council organised bonfire of the week. For a number of years now Rochdale Council have banned all unauthorised bonfires on local authority land to keep people safe and to reduce the likelihood of accidents.
As a result of this, hundreds of people across Middleton, Rochdale and Heywood have enjoyed bonfires this week.
As well as council organised bonfires, other organisations have organised bonfires planned.
