Smithy Bridge Primary School pupils continue their railway safety education
Date published: 28 October 2014
Pupils from Smithy Bridge Primary School have taken part in a competition with Network Rail to design a railway safety poster as part of an ongoing railway safety campaign at the school.
Four children were chosen as winners with one design being picked to feature on the school’s walking bus safety vests.
With the school being close to the railway line and the walking bus regularly crossing the level crossing, the poster and vests are a constant reminder to the children to always stay safe and be alert when near the railway.
Network Rail’s community safety manager, Nick Jordan, and Sharon Robinson from Network Rail, recently presented all four children with book vouchers in recognition of their achievements. They were joined by local councillor Janet Emsley.
