The team from Cartwheel Arts gave a reading of their graphic novel entitled ‘Blackwheel’ to an audience at the Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival today (Sunday 26 October).
Blackwheel, which is written by a group of young writers, focuses on central character Farooq on his journey through Blackwheel.
Danny Fahey from Cartwheel Arts said: “I am really pleased with how it went today. There were a mix of people in a attendance so that was nice to see.”
Cartwheel Arts uses a variety of media to initiate and respond to project opportunities.
Danny added: “Even though we are based in Heywood, we are very active within the Rochdale.”
It is hoped that the graphic novel will be available in print in the near future.
