Wheatsheaf Centre Comic Book Show

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre held its first comic book show today (Saturday 25 October), which saw the ground floor of the shopping centre turned into a comic book fans dream.
The show, which was linked to the Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival, included an appearance from racecar Lightning McQueen, a Jedi Training school held by Andrew Lawden, a create a superhero workshop by John Chapman and appearances from James E Pearsons and Joe Matthews.
Comic book sellers were selling a variety of comic books and merchandise.
Martin Ballard of Rochdale-based Red Cape Marketing, who organised the event, said: “I am very pleased with how it has gone today. There are lots of people milling about and lots of children dressed up.”
The event will continue tomorrow (Sunday 26 October) between 11am and 4pm.
