The Mayor of Rochdale’s Grand Charity Ball

The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Carol Wardle held a grand charity ball on Friday (17 October) to celebrate 40 years of the borough of Rochdale as well as raising money for her chosen charities.
Held in Rochdale Town Hall, the event was raising money for Springhill Hospice, Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home and Heywood Youth Link.
Mayor Wardle was joined at the event by dignitaries including local councillors, fellow Mayor and Mayoresses, Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk and newly elected MP for Heywood and Middleton Liz McInnes.
Speaking about the event, Mayor Wardle said: “We are here to celebrate 40 fabulous years since the formation of the metropolitan borough.
"I am hoping to raise lots of money for my chosen charities and think this will be a fantastic evening.”
Guests were treated to food and entertainment from John Alexander, Lydia Gillibrand and The Trends.
