Police issue image of person that want to speak to in relation to tyre slashing crime

Rochdale Police have released images of a person they want to speak to in connection with a tyre slashing crime in Middleton on Monday 6 October.

A police spokesman said: “The following still has been taken from Social Media. It show’s the person we want to speak to in relation to the slashed car tyres in Middleton that occurred in the early hours of Monday 6 October. We have the live footage of this but thanks to the public assistance we are able to use their stills too.

“We are still working to collect more footage and officers are walking the suspected route looking for CCTV opportunities.”

Around 100 cars were vandalised in the early hours of Monday morning on streets in and around Middleton Town Centre including King Street, High Street. Durnford Street and Sadler Street.

Lee Wolf who lives on Durnford Street said: “I got in the car and started to drive and noticed something wasn’t right. That’s when I realised the tyres had been slashed. I have no idea who has done this or why.”

Police are asking anyone who has any information regarding the incident or the offender to contact Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0161 856 8701, Greater Manchester Police switchboard on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and are asked to quote the following crime reference number when contacting the police - 152739X/14.
