Local artist Stephanie Jones has been voted the winner of People’s Choice in People’s Art 2014.

The annual art exhibition at Touchstones displayed the exceptional talent of local people, with over 200 paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings and craft objects on display.

Visitors were given the chance to vote for their favourite artwork in the ‘People’s Choice’ award and Stephanie received the greatest number of votes and was presented with vouchers to help her buy art materials.

Stephanie lives in Rochdale and has been entering the People’s Art exhibition since Touchstones Rochdale opened in 2002. Stephanie has previously won this award in 2012 with her painting titled ‘Tiger’. This year’s entry, acrylic painting on canvas, is titled ‘Ballerina with Yellow Shoes’. The painting depicts the Stephanie’s passion for dancing.

Stephanie thanked everyone who voted of her and went on to say: “I thought the standard of this year’s show was superb”.
