15-year-old boy hit by tram

A 15-year-old boy was hit by a tram this afternoon (Sunday 5 October) at the Kingsway tram stop, near Morrisons in Rochdale.
The boy was conscious and breathing after the incident and suffered a minor cut to his head.
He was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital for a further check up to look for broken bones.
It is understood that the boy may have been wearing his headphones at the time of the incident, and did not hear the tram coming.
The incident occurred at 12:20pm and trams were suspended.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene.
