Duke's Rd visit St Andrew's, Dearnley
Duke's Rd band will visit St Andrew's, Dearnley on Saturday night 4 October.
You don’t need a ticket, you can pay £6 on the door to gain admission to a musical evening headed by a four-piece band from Wigan, called Duke’s Rd.
Lead guitarist is Oldham-born Tony Bostock, a keen Oldham Rugby fan who has never wavered in his allegiance to the Roughyeds although he has lived in the Wigan area for many years.
Live music, a fun quiz, dancing and hot supper is all included in the £6 --- and there’s a pay bar too to help the evening go with a swing. Doors open 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
“I’m surrounded by Pie-Eaters in Wigan, but I’ve supported Oldham all my life and I’m not going to change now,” says Tony, a retired school teacher, who will lead the concert at St Andrew’s on Saturday before heading off to Leeds the following day to support Roughyeds in their big Grand Final game against Hunslet Hawks at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
