Shopkeeper threatened during robbery in Heywood
Date published: 27 September 2014
A shopkeeper was threatened during a robbery in Heywood.
Just before 2.40pm on Thursday 25 September 2014, a man wearing a balaclava and gloves, walked into a shop on Heady Hill Road and walked to the counter area.
He picked up a chair and threatened the shop keeper, demanding he gave him money.
The man is described as being white, 5ft 5in tall, skinny build, in his late teens, spoke with a local accent and wore dark clothes. He ran off towards Downham Road.
Police Constable Steve Farnell said: "This robbery happened in broad daylight so it is likely someone would have seen this man running from Heady Hill Street.
"If you did see anything or witnessed the robbery itself, please phone us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8701 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
