No third party involvement in death of man found in Whitworth
Date published: 24 September 2014
Police have said that they are confident that there was no third party involvement in the death of a man whose body was found in Whitworth at the weekend.
A post mortem examination has failed to determine the cause of death.
Lancashire Police have said they are “working under the assumption” that the body is Heath Nield, a 31-year-old from Bacup who disappeared in July.
The matter will now go to an inquest - a date has not yet been set.
The family of Mr Nield has been made aware of the latest development.
His body was found in Whitworth on Sunday 21 September after a dog walker discovered a human leg near Healey Conservative Club.
