Crane crashes through bus window in Middleton
The arm of a crane smashed through the window of a double decker bus this afternoon (Tuesday 23 September) in Middleton.
The top deck of the Stagecoach bus was damaged after the crash between the bus and the lorry carrying the crane.
The collision happened at the junction of Greengate and Grimshaw Lane at around 1:30pm.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: "At around 1.30pm today one of our vehicles was involved in a low-speed collision with a crane which was overhanging the back of a lorry on Grimshaw Lane, Middleton.
“None of the three passengers on board the bus at the time, or the driver, were injured in the incident although there was some minor damage caused to the vehicle.
"Safety is our absolute priority and we are investigating the circumstances of this incident."
It is understood that no one was on the top deck of the bus at the time of the incident.
