Year 11 Prefects Trip to Rock and River
Date published: 16 September 2014
24 Siddal Moor Prefects along with staff from Siddal Moor took a trip on Saturday to ‘Rock and River Activities Centre’ near Chorley, as part of a team building exercise.
This was to enable pupils to work together in a team and also on individual challenges.
The activities included “The Leap of Faith”, Archery, Rifle Shooting, Open Canoeing and Raft Building.
The pupils had a great time and worked alongside each other to complete the challenges set and to also mix with others in their year group who weren’t part of their usual friendship group in order to foster good team working, which they will use as part of their roles as prefects and senior prefects.
All pupils and staff were shattered at the end of the eventful day but were still talking about it on Monday when back at school.
Staff that attended included Mr McKeown, Ms Harrison and Mr Barcroft, along with Miss Hart Head of Year 11 who all commented on how incredibly impressed they were with the pupil’s attitude and eagerness to participate in all activities.
