Man with head injuries following brawl on Whitehall Street

A brawl between two gangs of Asian men outside Rochdale Infirmary resulted in a man being taken to hospital with head injuries.
Police were called to the scene of the brawl, on Whitehall Street, at around 4.30pm.
A man has been arrested and police enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “There has been a disturbance between two groups of men and it appears at this stage that one man has been assaulted.
“We believe there has been a melee elsewhere which has ended up resurfacing near the hospital.
“One male has been arrested and our enquiries are ongoing to try and find out exactly what has happened.”
